Is there an official schedule for Codex resets?
No. Global resets are irregular and non-guaranteed. They are manually triggered by OpenAI leadership (chiefly Tibo Sottiaux) to celebrate user milestones, deploy major model architecture upgrades, or compensate for prolonged cluster outages.
What is the difference between a regular reset and a banked reset?
A regular (hard) reset immediately clears token usage limits for every paid user on the platform. A banked reset provides a stored daily credit voucher that you can manually activate whenever you hit a quota wall.
Do banked resets expire?
Banked resets generally persist across multiple days during promotional rollout periods, but OpenAI reserves the right to expire unused promotional tokens upon general availability of the relevant feature.
